Happy Father’s Day

European Catholics have been Celebration of fatherhood  as since1508.

Father’s Day was set up to honour fatherhood and paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in society in Catholic countries of Europe. It has been celebrated on 19 March as Saint Joseph’s Day since the Middle Ages. In the United States, Father’s Day was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd and celebrated on the third Sunday of June for the first time in 1910. The day is held on various dates across the world and different regions maintain their own traditions of honouring fatherhood.

Father’s day is about honouring all of the special male role models in our life and to spread much joy and happiness to all our male role model and fathers .

All though it is celebrated annually. It was America who celebrating Father’s Day first so when the date was set to the third Sunday in June, Britain quickly followed suit, how ever in UK there are different origins

The first Father’s Day happened in 1908, when a West Virginian Church held a special sermon honouring fathers, after 362 men were killed in a mining accident. Parishioners gave out flowers, both red and white, to honour the living and the dead, in commemoration of all that our fathers do for us.
It is said that the church community didn’t celebrate it again, it just remained linked to the mining
