One argument against generational ships has been that advances in technology would allow a future group of humans to overtake the generational ship before it reached its destination. I think this is slightly flawed. Whether humans live on Earth or on a well-appointed generation ship almost seems to be a distinction without a difference. I mean, you got anything better to do?
