I don’t know much about astronomy so can someone explain why they didn’t obtain a picture of the object? She said they looked at it for 10 days through a telescope.

This is contradicted by JPL data that shows its brightest magnitude was around 19 or so which is far too dim except by large telescopes AND long exposure CCD photos!
